Through the mission of extending the love of God, the grace of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, Galloway United Methodist Church’s vision is to be and to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
The church offers several ways to get connected including through worship services, children and student ministry, and worship arts, as well as missions and outreach. The church strives to offer ministry opportunities that reflect the scriptural spirit of diakonia, ministry through active service done with a willing heart.
Through a dedication to Christian principles and a spirit of reconciliation, the church began the Grace Place Ministry after recognizing the need of people in the downtown area who were living on the margins and were hungry, homeless, and in need of physical, mental and spiritual healing. To this day, the ministry offers a welcoming setting where the homeless receive a hot meal, participate in weekly worship services and receive assistance with clothing and other physical needs.
What began in 1836, with a small band of just five faithful Methodists, now has become the oldest thriving Christian congregation in the City, located in the heart of Downtown Jackson. Check them out on the web, or on Facebook!
