Eudora Welty Library, conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Jackson, is part of the Jackson Hinds Library System. In addition to the extensive library collection, the 45,000 square foot building also houses the Mississippi Writer’s Exhibit, and an Information Resource Center with 40 public-access computers. The Library also includes a children’s area, equipped with a large collection of picture books, and fiction and non-fiction novels for young readers. The Library offers three types of library cards, including a Kid’s Card and a Teen’s Card, allowing access to free books, services and resources. The Eudora Welty Library frequently hosts classes and events for the community, and meeting space is available for rent.
The Eudora Welty Library building also houses the Autism Resource Center, which provides services such as the Individual Education Program (IEP) Reinforcement, arts & crafts, learning of job skills, literacy in math and reading, improvement of social skills, and more.
