As more Jacksonians struggle to put meals on the table, the International Museum of Muslim Culture (IMMC) is partnering with Islamic Relief USA to meet the needs of the City of Jackson Beloved Community with food box donations.
Ramadan is a month of fasting, spiritual reflection, and charity for Muslims in Jackson MS and all over the world. It’s a month that serves as a reminder of the significant number of people who suffer from hunger daily. According to the most recent census report, over 17 million families in the United States are food insecure. 1 in 4 children is at risk for hunger. More than 46 million people living in the United States live in poverty, the highest number recorded in the 52 years for which poverty statistics have been reported, according to the World Hunger Education Service.
