Come on out to the Capital Club for pre-performance Downtown dining and cocktails before heading over to Thalia Mara Hall for Mississippi Symphony Orchestra’s Bravo II – Resonant Hope on November 19, 2022!
A delicious prix fixe menu, with wine pairings and unparalleled views at the Capital Club, start the evening. Then, experience the haunting beauty of Debussy’s Sunken Cathedral as it sets the stage for a transformative journey inspired by the pairing of poet Terrance Hayes’ powerful words and the shimmering transcendence of Jennifer Higdon’s Blue Cathedral. In the spotlight, Sphinx Competition winner Sterling Elliott’s magnificent Dvorak Cello Concerto celebrates humanity’s capacity to hope, heal, connect and triumph. A pre-concert lecture with a fascinating look at the evening’s music, led by Dr. Timothy Coker, Professor Emeritus of Music at Millsaps College, will be held at 6:30pm on the Mezzanine at Thalia Mara Hall.
