Pepperwood, as an idea was started with one goal: to move people – whether their hearts or their feet, and if we were lucky, both. Named after Nick Miller’s (New Girl) fictional detective series, the band was started in a hot tub in 2018, and after many bumps and set backs, we really didn’t *start* until reforming post-Covid 2022. While all bringing a variety of influences that each add their own unique flavors, we also have a solid overlap in our musical venn diagram that allows us to really gel together and create music we are proud of.
We want to be more than just a rock band. Our goal is emotional connection and authenticity. Of course we also want to make great music that people want to sing along too, but we want that music to be a conversation. A two way street. We want our fans to feel like they are our friends. How they respond and interpret our music has almost as much weight to me as the music itself. I want to tell the stories of the human condition, the strings that connect us all. Everyone has their own story, and yet we are all so similar, and there’s nothing better than being in a crowded room full of people singing our songs and feeling a little less alone in the world. We want to be about more than just rock and roll. We want to be a band of community and hope.
