Join the Old School Throwdown DJ Coalition for their annual Club Reunion in the Red Room at Hal&Mal’s, February 1, 2025, 8pm – 2am!
Enjoy a fun night of catching up with old friends, making new ones, and dancing the night away to great music by local, original DJs who were once your resident and guest DJs at Jackson clubs from the late 80s until now!
Tickets: $10 | 18+ years old
DJ LINE-UP:
8pm – Jayce Powell, DJ Trix starts the night off with some alternative, hip-hop, and Miami Bass…think Inez’s early night
9pm – David Bates, DJ Haze will head into some Electro, Freestyle and MiaBrian Casei Bass
10pm – DJ Swanner, Scottland Sherra Swanner, will pick up with an all vinyl set of breaks and more
11pm – DJ Case, Brian Case, will be spinning a set again, and if you missed him at the last Throwdown, don’t miss him this time!
12am – DJ Scotty Boi, Scott Hale, will pick up and continue into the night spinning until 1am
1am – Rob Saxton, DJ Robbio, will spin his second Throwdown and finish the night out spinning until 2am

These Throwdown shows are always a great reunion and are full of original DJs, the ones you danced the night away to in the late 80s, 90s, 00s, and most are still spinning shows and festivals today. Here’s a little history about the Old School Throwdown DJ Coalition and how it all started.
In 2010, while Charles Faulk and Jayce Powell were attending their 20 year class reunion, Charles thought it would be more fun to head Downtown and visit with a friend and mentor, Allen Wright at the club, Jack N Jill’s, where he was the resident DJ at the time. While there they decided a club reunion would be more fun than a class reunion, and the Old School Throwdown began to take shape. Charles and Jayce approached longtime friend, promoter and lover of music & dance, Edward Peter Cole II, and the next year (2011) the first Old School Throwdown took place.
That first year the DJs spun only vinyl just as they did back in the day, and to this day, several of them still carry on that tradition. The first year included DJs such as Charles Faulk, Scottand Swanner, Patrick Duvall, Robert Arender and Jayce Powell. These guys were resident DJs at clubs in the 80’s, 90’s and on. If you remember DJ Phases, Katmandoos, Inez’s, Club Rendezvous, Jackson’s Double Deuce, Midnight Sun, Catwalk, University Pub, and we could go on and on, then you will remember these DJs!
Through the years, there has been a revolving list of who’s who of DJs from Jackson, New Orleans, Monroe and other states and cities joining as guests. Each DJ will spin some great music from the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s to today. You will hear Alternative, Hip-Hop, Miami bass, Electro, Freestyle, House, Techno, Breaks, Industrial and more.
The Old School Throwdown will be a fun night of DJ celebration, music and dance, plus a great time to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. I hope everyone will join this Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Hal&Mal’s for a fun-filled night!!! Doors open and the music starts at 8pm, and will continue until 2am. Hal&Mal’s is also a great restaurant, so come early to eat and then be ready for the best club reunion in a long time
