This three-day experience will celebrate freedom through culture, creativity and community to celebrate Juneteenth National Independence Day, a federal holiday.

On Friday, June 17, the weekend kicks off with tailgating and a fireworks welcome reception in front of the JXN Convention Complex in Downtown Jackson.

Nearly a dozen experiential activations will take place over the Juneteenth weekend, including the Sankofa Economic Empowerment Village Market of vendors and artists, the Bobby Rush Motorcade Parade, worship services and more!

Faith & Finance and Health & Wellness start Saturday, June 18, with “Jumping the Broom”, planned as Mississippi’s largest wedding ceremony with over 100 couples marrying on the grounds in a joint ceremony.

Sunday, June 19, Juneteenth and Father’s Day will begin with a worship service, Sunday Soul Food dinner and celebration of dads, and special recognition of area fathers. The weekend wraps up with an evening worship experience featuring the Mississippi Mass Choir and Paul Porter.
