Jason Turner is a Jackson, Mississippi native who has been touring extensively across the Southeast for the past 20 years, performing over 200 shows a year on stages in cities such as New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Nashville and more. Writing all of his own songs and drawing from his personal life, Turner captivates listeners and is now preparing for the release of his seventh album Reset, scheduled to drop on December 2nd. In 2011 Turner won the CSpire Battle of the Bands and opened for Jake Owen and the Avett Brothers at Bulldog Bash in front of 30,000 people. Later that year, he was featured in CSpire’s South by Southwest showecase in Austin, TX. In 2012 Turner was featured on the Oxford Sounds TV show alongside the North Mississippi Allstars, Jimbo Mathis, Carey Hudson, Charlie Mars and many others. Turner has shared the stage with many including Robert Randolf, Violent Femmes, Tim Reynolds of Dave Matthews Band, Blessed Union of Souls, Mike Tramp of White Lion, Ingram Hill, Josh Kelly, American Idol winner David Cook, Tantric, Crossfade and Lillian Axe. He has also won over 30 Best of Jackson Awards, including the 2016 awards for Best Rock Artist/Band and Best Singer.
Via Novus, a hard rock/alternative metal group from Mississippi, was founded in 2017 with the release of its single debut “August”, quickly followed up with the “Dusk to Dust” EP that following March. The band quickly garnered thousands of organic streams on Spotify and Apple Music, and landed the band with international online radio and FM airplay. Hitting the road at every given opportunity, the band frequently tours across the midwest and southern United States, bringing new material to meet the demands of a rapidly changing music industry. Each member has their own distinct musical backgrounds, creating an incredibly diverse set of musical influences. Their sound is comparable to that of Breaking Benjamin, old school Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Evanescense. Via Novus is aesthetically driven by Victorian fashion with hints of androgynous themes popularized by artists such as David Bowie and Boy George. Drawing on their crowd-chanting motto “We are Via Novus”, their live package promises an interactive and high energy performance, making the audience feel truly a part of the show and perhaps even the band itself.
