Celebrate the artistry and tradition of Southern Black quilting with a day of hands-on creativity, live demonstrations, and a guided tour. Inspired by the MMA special exhibition, Family Day: All About Quilts offers quilt-inspired art-making activities for all ages alongside special programming throughout the Museum.
From 11 AM to 2 PM, experience Quilting Here & Now: Artist Demo Day with local quilter Stephany Brown as she shares her techniques and creative process. Drop-in art-making will be available during this time as part of Access for All: Free First Saturdays, which offers free Museum admission all day and a guided Close Looking Tour with a Museum Guide for a deeper exploration of the exhibition at 2 PM.
