Rain or shine, the show must go on! Join the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce on Saturday, February 12th, for the 2022 Dixie National ‘Spirit of America’ Parade! This beloved tradition to kick off rodeo competitions is the perfect outing for the family – from rodeo queens and decorative floats, to antique military vehicles and the famous wagon train, the #DixieNationalParade has something for everyone!
The parade will follow a mile-long route starting at 10:30am, and ending at 12pm, with the Dixie National Parade Awards Ceremony immediately following the conclusion of the parade. The ceremony will be held inside the Mississippi Farmers Market, and winners will be chosen by appointed parade judges on a round of categories including Best Marching Group, Best Motorized Club, Best Float, and Best Riding Club, as well as the Commissioner’s Award, which will be awarded to the best overall individual or group from the entire parade lineup.
Road closures will begin at 9am along the parade route, and will reopen at the conclusion of the parade. Spectators will find the best viewing spots along President and West Streets in Downtown Jackson.
