Attendees at this webinar can expect to learn about navigating marketplace health plans and insurance. Bob Williams, Director of Life and Health Actuarial with the Department of Insurance, will host this session.
Bob Williams has been in the Insurance Industry in Mississippi for over 32 years. He began his career at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi in 1989 and was serving as Vice-President and Corporate Secretary in 2009 when he left to pursue a career in Government Programs with UnitedHealthcare. He was instrumental in launching the MississippiCAN program for UnitedHealthcare.
As the Director of the Life and Health Actuarial Division, Bob works directly with Department actuaries as well as industry representatives to guarantee compliance with Mississippi and Federal statutes and regulations. Furthermore, Bob serves as counsel and advocate for the Commissioner of Insurance. As Division Director, he oversees the Department’s efforts to implement and enforce the new regulations and guidelines for insurance market reforms associated with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.
Bob is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School Of Law. He is a member of the Madison/Ridgeland Rotary Night Club and serves as program chair for the club. He is also presently serving on the Ole Miss Insurance Advisory Board, the Mississippi Nurses Associates Board, and the Northbay Homeowners Board of Directors. Bob has served as Senior Warden for Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church, Chairman of the Madison County Economic Development Board, Chairman of the Madison County Business League, Chairman of the Ole Miss Advisory Board, and President of the Ridgeland/Northpark Lions Club.
