Mississippi Economic Council’s (MEC) Capital Day 2023 will be held Thursday, January 5, and will provide business and community leaders an opportunity to meet with state leaders and legislators to discuss the upcoming session. The Legislative briefing will return to the State Capitol for the first time since 2020, allowing attendees to meet with their legislators while there.
8am – Registration (Mississippi Trade Mart)
9am – Welcome (Mississippi Trade Mart)
9:15am – 11:30am – Morning Session & Special Legislative Briefing (Mississippi Trade Mart & Mississippi State Capitol)
The day kicks off with the morning session at the Mississippi Trade Mart at 9am and includes a look at the priorities during the 2023 session.
The featured discussion at the morning session will focus on:
Connecting the Dots: Checking the Pulse of College, Business, and Workforce Development Leaders on ways to Collaborate for Improving Education Outcomes and Increasing College and Career Readiness.
Attendees will then travel to the State Capitol to hear from legislative leadership.
11:30am – 1:30pm – State Officials’ Reception (Mississippi Trade Mart)
The State Officials’ Reception will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Trade Mart.
